GTC’s uplink devices send information such as GPS location co-ordinates and remote status reports using the Globalstar Simplex Data Service. Globalstar is the world’s largest provider of satellite voice and data services, with around 293,000 subscribers, and its constellation of 48 low earth orbiting (LEO) satellites allow a reliable and low cost means of sending data from remote locations where alternative communications are not available, inefficient or not practical to use.
GTC has made a substantial investment in and owns a number of unique network infrastructure devices, known as appliqués, which provide the signal receipt and processing technology that enables and powers Globalstar’s Simplex Data Service. GTC’s appliqués are located at a number of Globalstar satellite ground stations including those located in Australia, Europe, Russia, and South America. To further enhance global coverage of its services, GTC is currently constructing its own satellite ground stations in areas where no Simplex Data Service is currently offered by Globalstar.
Using our experience with the Globalstar satellite network, GTC can design, build and install custom made satellite tracking and monitoring ground station systems for installation anywhere in the world. Our customized ground station systems can collect information from unlimited devices within a radius of up to 2,000 miles and are particularly useful for governments, armed forces, disaster relief organizations or industrial users requiring a highly secure, precise and low cost method of asset tracking and monitoring in areas where the standard commercial Simplex Data Service is currently unavailable.
